You need to re-read this regularly, as it’s a continuous practice.
- Stay true to yourself.
- Communicate literally about the things you want. Don’t expect them to read between the lines.
- Take care of yourself. Eat right, sleep enough, exercise.
- Supportive of each other’s passions.
- Give space to each other’s private life, friends, work, and hobbies.
- Facilitate the other person to be the best they can be.
- Think 3x before saying something hurtful. You might just be irrational or tired. Humans are machines.
- Show that you care. Be interested in what they find interesting.
- When possible, involve them in your decision making.
- Plan regular quality time.
- Realize that you are 2 different individuals. Having amazing connection doesn’t mean that they are you.
- Don’t settle for less. Maintain your standards.
